FAQ

DIY Painting Kit
Includes unpainted wooden pieces and painting supplies—everything you need to start creating.

Unpainted
Natural wooden pieces only. Perfect if you already have your own painting supplies.

Hand-Painted
Beautifully painted and ready to display, collect, or gift.

Our wooden pieces are crafted from quality wood with smooth, paint-ready surfaces, making painting easy and enjoyable for beginners and experienced creators alike.

Apply thin layers of paint, letting each dry before adding the next. Start with lighter colors and use fine-tip markers for details to achieve a polished finish.

No worries! If the paint is still wet, gently blot it with a damp cloth. Once dry, you can usually cover mistakes with another layer of acrylic paint.

Tip: Lighter colors are easier to adjust before adding darker shades.

Absolutely! Blend watercolors while wet for soft transitions. With acrylic markers, let each layer dry before adding another for cleaner, more defined colors.

Thin layers may feel dry within minutes, depending on the paint and room conditions. Allow each layer to dry before adding more, and let your finished piece dry completely before handling.

Not necessarily! For indoor display, acrylic paint usually doesn’t require additional protection. For extra durability, consider a compatible clear acrylic sealer after the paint has fully dried.

Great set, one marker was dry

Really pleased with the set overall, the Santa carving is lovely and the markers cover the wood beautifully in one coat. One small thing: the yellow marker in my box had dried out, so I had to borrow one to finish the stars. Not the end of the world given the price, and the rest of the kit is excellent. I would still recommend it for a Christmas craft evening.

The trees come apart into layers

Both of these tree blanks are in my hand before painting, and the stacked one separates into layers, which makes it really easy to paint the green and then slip the white snow edges in between. Clever bit of design, and it means no fiddly masking. The wood takes the marker beautifully. Already planning a whole row of them for the mantel.

The little turned pieces are charming

Pictured in my hand, the two turned pieces, one that becomes a little gnome, one that becomes a tree, next to my Santa, who is already painted red and white. The turned shapes are smooth and neat, clearly done on a lathe, and they balance nicely once they are on a shelf. A nice mix of hand-carved and turned wood in one set.

Painted my Santa in non-traditional colours

I went completely off-script and did my Santa in pink with little heart details and rosy cheeks, and he now guards my desk all year round. The carving takes colour into all the creases of the beard and coat, so it looks properly painted rather than blocked in. He makes me smile every time I look up. Ten out of ten for a bit of festive silliness.

Everything you need is in the box

This is what arrived: the Santa, a bundle of little cone trees, and a box of 24 acrylic markers with brush tips, so you can start straight away without buying anything else. The markers are genuinely good quality, nice and opaque on the wood. I spent the first evening just sorting the pieces and picking colours. Fantastic value for a whole Christmas project.

They even look good bare

I set them up on the bookshelf before painting and honestly the bare wood looks lovely, the pale Santa and the little trees among the books like a tiny forest. It made me slow down and enjoy the carving before covering it up. If you like a Scandi, minimal look you could almost leave them plain. I am painting mine, but I see both sides.

So many pieces to play with

Laid everything out before starting: the big Santa, a couple of larger cones and a few stacked trees that go together into little pines. There is more here than I expected, and each piece is cleanly cut with no splinters. I am doing a red-and-green traditional scheme across the whole set. A really generous little craft kit for the money.

The Santa carving is so detailed

Pictured before any paint goes on, mostly because I could not get over how much detail the carving has, the hat brim, the beard, the little boots, all cut by hand. He sits nicely in the palm and the wood is smooth with no rough patches. I am taking my time painting him because it feels like he deserves it. A lovely centrepiece for the set.

The finished set looks like a shop display

Here is the whole thing painted, two little snow-tipped trees, the gnome in his teal hat with a snowflake, and Santa in his red suit. It looks like something you would pay far more for in a gift shop, and I made it myself. They sit on the shelf in the hall and every visitor has asked where I bought them. Hugely satisfying project.

Lovely handmade feel — the tree

The moment I saw the raw wood I knew I'd enjoy painting it. Looks sweet next to the other pieces I've slowly collected. Already planning my next one.

Will buy again

My sister recommended these and she was right. It now has a permanent spot by my window. Even half-finished it looked good on the table. Five stars from me.

Adorable on the shelf

Grabbed one on vacation to bring home and it reminded me of the trip. It now has a permanent spot by my window. Felt sturdy in the hand, not flimsy like some kits I've tried. Five stars from me.

Charming and well done — the tree

Found this shop by accident and the little wooden piece caught my eye. The carving catches the light nicely once it sits on a shelf. Edges are smooth, no splinters when I handled it. A new favorite, honestly.

Adorable on the shelf — the tree

The moment I saw the raw wood I knew I'd enjoy painting it. Stands on its own without needing a separate stand. The wood grain shows through and looks lovely even before any color goes on. Will be back for more from this maker.
